[Before they know it, there is a knock on their door. Tonight, Jakurai has ditched the usual doctor get up and is wearing relaxed jeans and a long sleeve shirt over. He's pulled his hair back too.]

[Sensei sounded off in his messages. With that in mind, Hifumi not only cooked something delicious, but something that might be comforting as well... basically any food in his mind but that was the aim.

When he hears the knock he swiftly walks on over, opening the door with a giant grin.]

Sensei, welcome! I'm so happy to see you!

[He's wearing an apron, of course, and gestures excitedly over to the set table of delicious goods.]

I made honey garlic salmon, broccoli, and rice, so please eat! It's really important that you do!

[ in the meantime, doppo is concerned! he had been scrolling mindlessly through the forums, deep in thought, after he helped hifumi with the prepping of the ingredients.

since hifumi's the chef of the both of them, he's all too happy to leave him to his own expert devices. doppo gets up from the couch when sensei turns up, too!

Sensei, I'm glad you came. Please sit and eat with us.

Certainly, the company and food is both very welcome.

[Jakurai knows that when he's having a tough time, or his head is clouded....he can spend time with his team. The playful banter between both Hifumi and Doppo is refreshing to him. Seeing something close to normal and far away from whatever was clouding his thoughts at the moment was good for him right now.]

I will be coming in now, thank you both for letting me in on such short notice.

[He toes his shoes off at the entrance and neatly folds his coat onto the couch.]

What an impressive meal, Hifumi-kun.

[Hifumi is ready to pounce on Jakurai for The Deets but considering he said he hadn't eaten, he can hold back and wait for a while. At the moment, Jakurai having something to eat was far more important.]

Only the best for you, Sensei!

[He pulls a seat out for Jakurai.]

Please only worry about eating for now, and you can talk about anything bothering you when you're ready!

[ only the best for him, indeed! doppo's concern for jakurai edges out his love for hifumi's food, just barely, and he's coming over to sit with him, gesturing for hifumi to come, too, so they can eat together. ]

Yeah. Hifumi's really gone all out to whip this up for us in such a short time.

[ they did spend some time dawdling... but anyway, doppo's looking the doctor over discreetly, wondering if he can suss out the reason why he's here, and if he needs comfort. all the same -- they'll be here to give him everything he needs. ]

[He just looks a little more worn than usual. He's not trying to let it show too much. He doesn't really prefer to worry the two of them in such an unnecessary manner. Especially when Hifumi keeps going all out for his meals like this. So he appreciates the ear, but perhaps dinner first?]

Thank you both. I know my intrusion is sudden, please forgive me.

[He knows he already apologized once...

But there was no harm in making sure the two of them knew he really hadn't intended to disrupt their evening.]

[Hifumi sits to eat with them, while glancing at everything on the table one last time to make sure he provided everything he intended to.]

This is the perfect opportunity to properly thank you, Sensei, for helping Doppo get a job! I'm really happy I get to have him home more often!

[ eternal forgiveness, indeed. doppo hums in agreement this time despite hifumi's jubilant announcement. ]

Also, there's nothing to forgive. You're a part of us. And yes -- thank you for helping me get a job.

[ and god, hifumi, that's really embarrassing! he lightly swats at hifumi before gesturing at the food. ]

Go on, eat. It'll get cold otherwise.

I am happy to have you there, Doppo-kun. Your knowledge serves you well in our little clinic.

[Of course he’s happy about it. He then says his thanks for the food and starts eating. Hifumi never disappoints with his meals and now is no exception. He finds himself smiling about it. ]

I do not intend for either of you to worry about me.

[He says this between bites, knowing that he’s probably got them worried right now. ]

You know we'll worry about you anyway, even if there wasn't anything to worry about!

[Because they're friends. Because they're a team. Because... Hifumi and Doppo are plagued by anxiety. Many fantastic reasons that's for sure.]

If you want to take the time to sit and relax after eating, you should do that! We'll be here to cheer you up!

[ yes they will be there to cheer him up! doppo brightens when jakurai so warmly praises him, and there it is, that smile. it lessens the tension that doppo doesn't quite know he's carrying, and he barely tastes the food when he has it himself.

he keeps them both at the top of his mind -- jakurai and hifumi are precious to him, and once they finish eating, he's starting to clean up. ]

Sensei, we can clean up here. Would you like to take a seat in the living room?

[He eats with them, and praises the both of them more for the meal. It really was what he needed, he thinks.

...and he's not letting them clean up alone. He will take the dishes from the table and starting bringing them over to the sink.]

It would be wrong of me to intrude and not help you clean up, wouldn't it?

[Time to wash dishes!!]
